About The Position

The Ski Race Crew plays a critical role in supporting Winter4Kids' alpine race training and competition environment. This team ensures that race venues are prepared, maintained, and operated safely and efficiently, providing athletes with the highest quality experience. Crew members work closely with coaches, officials, and program staff to deliver smooth daily training sessions, time trials, and sanctioned races.

Requirements

• Ability to work closely with coaches, officials, and program staff.
• Willingness to assist with hill setup, including fencing, safety netting, start/finish areas, and signage.
• Capability to set, slip, and maintain training and race courses.
• Proficiency in maintaining racing surfaces, including snow removal, raking, and salt application.
• Skill in supporting timing and race operations, including equipment setup, cabling, and data logistics.
• Readiness to serve as course workers or in other assigned roles during races.
• Ability to assist in efficient tear-down and removal of equipment.
• Capacity to monitor athlete and spectator safety and enforce safety protocols.
• Knowledge of and adherence to Winter4Kids, US Ski & Snowboard, and FIS safety standards.
• Ability to respond appropriately to on-hill incidents and assist ski patrol.

Responsibilities

• Assist with hill setup including fencing, safety netting, start/finish areas, and signage.

• Maintain racing surfaces throughout training and events, including snow removal, raking, and salt application when necessary.
• Support timing and race operations by helping with equipment setup, cabling, and data logistics.
• Serve as course workers, or other assigned roles during races.
• Assist in efficient tear-down and removal of equipment post-training or competition.
• Monitor athlete and spectator safety around the course and enforce safety protocols.
• Maintain compliance with Winter4Kids, US Ski & Snowboard, and FIS safety standards.
• Respond appropriately to on-hill incidents and assist ski patrol when needed.
