About The Position

This role involves conducting various batch types for new product development and technology transfer. The technician will be responsible for documenting their work, preparing materials, operating and cleaning equipment, and performing quality checks on products. A key aspect of the role is assisting formulators with regulatory documentation and gaining experience in a pilot plant setting, including the setup, operation, and cleanup of manufacturing and filling machines for different product forms. The position also requires manufacturing clinical batches and scaling up processes within CGMP pilot plant environments.

Requirements

Associate, Bachelor of Arts or Science (Chemistry Preferred)
Previous experience in an R&D and/or manufacturing environment preferred.
Ability to read and interpret technical procedures, SOPs, GMPs, and FDA regulations.
Ability to work with MS Word and Excel, and able to write reports and perform data entry.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to lift 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

Conduct hand, laboratory, and pilot scale batches for new product development and technology transfer products.
Write reports for the above work.
Obtain raw materials and perform weighing; follow instructions to conduct product development trials and pilot batches.
Perform product development equipment set-up, operation, and clean-up.
Perform visual inspection and physical testing on intermediates and finished trial products.
Aid formulators to prepare regulatory filing documents.
Perform trials under the guidance of the R&D supervisor.
Work in a pilot plant setting, with an ability to learn on pilot plant manufacturing (SSL) and filling machines (Liquids, Semi-Solids, and Suppositories) set up, operation, and clean up.
Manufacture clinical batches and scale-up in CGMP pilot plant settings.
