R&D TECHNICIAN III – MELTING PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE R&D TECHNICIAN III – MELTING: Support role for melting operations in R&D. Ability to operate and assist operation of lab-scale VIM, VAR, and ESR furnaces. Processing – heat preparation, melting, casting, heat treating, cutting operations, and other tasks as assigned. Able to prepare experimental heats, rebuild furnaces, melt, and cast heats. Operate band saws in R&D High Bay. Provide back-up for other R&D positions as needed. Ability to work alone or in a team. Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.
