About The Position
At ABB, employees help industries run leaner and cleaner. In this role, you will contribute to technology, product, and solution development, as well as related intellectual property (IP). You will be the first point of contact within Research & Development for specific product-related issues and maintenance activities, and will identify, propose, and implement innovative solutions that support business results. The position contributes to the ELSB Transformers Business Line and is based in Nogales. The work model is remote. This position reports to the Technical Product Manager.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of experience in electrical design, particularly transformer design and development.
- Solid knowledge of applicable industry standards, including UL, CSA, NEMA, IEEE, and IEC.
- Experience using simulation software for transformer design and analysis.
- Advanced English and Spanish communication skills.
- Availability to travel as required.
- Customer-oriented mindset and solid problem-solving skills.
- Experience with manufacturing processes, transformer assembly, and test report interpretation.

Responsibilities
- Maintain expertise in a specialized area by incorporating the latest technologies, tools, and methodologies into your work.
- Develop innovative approaches to complex engineering challenges by generating ideas, creating hypotheses, and defining validation methods.
- Document technical findings, designs, calculations, and project results to support knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to IP generation in your area of specialization and support the development of project IP strategies.
- Serve as the first point of contact within Research & Development for specific product-related issues and maintenance activities.
- Identify, propose, and implement innovative solutions that help achieve business results.
