About The Position

The Early-Stage R&D Engineer will support growth of Medtronic’s Peripheral Vascular Health technology portfolio by driving front-end innovation for percutaneous venous and arterial therapies. The role focuses on carotid artery technology and also supports projects in peripheral artery disease. Work includes translating clinical and procedural insights into engineering concepts, investigating the feasibility of novel mechanisms, and helping transition early device concepts into formal development programs. Collaboration with pipeline marketing, business development, strategy, and other functions is frequent. The engineer should be comfortable independently exploring ambiguous opportunities and assessing new markets and technologies. U.S. candidates may work in a flexible arrangement combining onsite and remote work. Flexible arrangements are not guaranteed and may change with business needs or facility space, including a possible transition to full-time onsite work. The position requires a bachelor’s degree and at least four years of relevant experience, a master’s degree and at least two years of relevant experience, or a Ph.D. with no experience required. For bachelor’s degrees earned outside the United States, the degree must satisfy the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A).
