About The Position

The R&D Program Manager owns and manages the Ga2O3 project and its development toward new product sales. The role oversees planning, implementation, and evaluation of the GOX government-funded program, ensuring compliance with federal regulations, contracts, and subcontracts. The Program Manager manages program budgets and reporting, coordinates internal and external stakeholders, and drives continuous improvement in program efficiency and impact. The position leads development of Ga2O3 single-crystal growth processes using the R&D team, manages internal and external resources, and supports team expansion and upskilling as the project scales. It also owns external funding contracts and manages intellectual-property development, including decisions about filing, publication, and trade secrets, as well as patent-portfolio cost control. The role advises manufacturing, engineering, and sales on technical specifics and proactively analyzes problems and recommends solutions.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in business, science, or a related technical field.
At least 3 years of direct experience managing a team of engineers, scientists, and technicians.
Experience working on government contracts and understanding their requirements and project-tracking needs.
Experience with software appropriate to an industrial R&D environment, including some of LabVIEW, 3D CAD (such as Solidworks, CREO, or Inventor), MS Office Suite, Minitab, or related programs.
Understanding of the fundamentals of contract law, including elements, capacity, contract types, and implications.
Familiarity with semiconducting materials, their use in electronics applications, and modular instrumentation for materials testing and characterization.
Demonstrated project leadership and ability to drive projects through development.
Effective written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present to large groups.
