About The Position

Stefanini Group is hiring an R&D Product Developer in East Hanover, NJ. This hybrid role involves planning, leading, and coordinating technical projects aligned with R&D, marketing, and manufacturing requirements. The position requires effective communication of status and risks, planning and leading pilot plant and factory trials according to good manufacturing practices and HACCP requirements. Additionally, the role involves planning and leading development activities such as product shelf-life testing, designing for quality, and consumer test preparation. Digital simulation models will be used to understand consumer insights and commercial information, leading to the creation and maintenance of accurate consumer-led specifications. Stakeholder management and influencing decisions based on data analysis are key aspects of this role.

Requirements

  • B.S. or M.S. in Food Science, Chemical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 3 yrs. experience, preferably in the food industry
  • Strong technical foundation and a high level of technical curiosity
  • Demonstrates ability to handle multiple projects, and manage complexity- from bench top to plant commercialization
  • Ability to develop and drive technical projects with proper scientific rigor: conduct appropriate testing, gather and analyze data, and develop recommendations based on findings
  • Skills in Microsoft Office platform (Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint)

Responsibilities

  • Plan, lead, and coordinate technical projects in line with R&D, marketing, and manufacturing requirements.
  • Effectively communicate status and risks.
  • Plan, lead, and coordinate pilot plant and factory trials in accordance with good manufacturing practice and HACCP requirements.
  • Plan, lead, and coordinate development activities (e.g. product shelf-life testing, designing for quality, consumer test preparation. etc.).
  • Use digital simulation models to obtain, understand and interpret consumer insights and commercial information.
  • Create and maintain accurate consumer-led specifications.
  • Manage stakeholders and influence decisions based on conclusions made from analysis and interpretation of results.
  • Lead product development projects with cross-functional partners.
  • Develop and drive technical projects with proper scientific rigor: conduct appropriate testing, gather and analyze data, and develop recommendations based on findings.
  • Apply technical curiosity and understanding to interpret and analyze data.
  • Effectively communicate to cross-functional stakeholders verbally and in writing.
  • Partner with company's experts and platforms, connect with consumers, trends and seek new technologies.
  • Collaboratively develop technical learning plans and timelines.
