About The Position

The candidate will serve as an R&D Technician II, responsible for performing various mechanical, electrical, and dimensional tests on medical devices within an R&D lab setting. The role requires following precise instructions, maintaining accurate documentation, and utilizing specialized testing tools while working fully on-site. The work balance is approximately 85% lab time and 15% desk time.

Requirements

• 1–4 years of relevant experience or post-high school education.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and work independently.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with medical device testing or product assembly preferred.
• Experience in R&D or testing environments is a plus.
• Document drafting experience is beneficial.
• AA degree or post-secondary education preferred.
• Solid work history with demonstrated reliability (e.g., 2+ years at the same company).
• Career progression or transferable skills relevant to testing or mechanical work.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical, electrical, conditioning, length, OD, and visual tests on medical devices.
• Follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
• Maintain accurate documentation using good documentation practices.
• Communicate clearly with engineers regarding test results and observations.
• Adhere to safety protocols and use appropriate safety equipment.
• Utilize lab tools and equipment including calipers, MTS, multimeters, digital thermometers, force gauges, Cognex, LabView, and hand tools.
