About The Position

The R&D Mechanical Technician works under limited supervision to assist research and development engineers, scientists, or teams in developing and analyzing products, materials, processes, or equipment. The role includes designing and setting up pilot and production equipment, developing methods for its use, measuring, analyzing, and controlling processing variables, and scaling up systems to meet expected capacities. The technician is also responsible for maintaining compliance with quality requirements and building quality into all aspects of the work.

Requirements

• Associate of Arts degree or equivalent work experience in a related discipline.
• At least 1 year of related experience.
• Experience in test method development and mechanical testing.
• Experience using Instron equipment.
• Experience with design verification mechanical testing.

Responsibilities

• Design and set up pilot and production equipment.
• Design methods for using equipment.
