About The Position

PIM Brands is seeking bright, eager interns for our R&D Department. We are looking for a R&D Intern to start a career at our Park Ridge NJ location. This internship is a paid opportunity for college students looking to gain experience in the food industry. At PIM Brands, we make brands like Welch’s® Fruit Snacks, Sun-Maid® Chocolate Covered Raisins, and Sour Jacks® Sour Candies, which are enjoyed by millions daily. We are looking for talented, results-oriented individuals who want to play a part in building amazing brands and products in a collaborative, dynamic, and fast-paced office environment. Interns can make an immediate and lasting contribution to growing iconic snack and confectionery brands.

Requirements

  • Rising Senior in college/university, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in any field.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better
  • Strong business acumen and analytical ability
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and organization skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong relationships
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated and bias for action
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Demonstrated personal and professional values
  • Have access to local housing and reliable transportation
  • Be able to work during our 10 week summer program, which is a 40-hour week, beginning June 1st, 2026 through at least August 7th 2026

Responsibilities

  • Develop product formulations and work on prototypes.
  • Test and define procedures and processing parameters.
  • Explore and test improvements in existing products.
  • Coordinate pilot plant trials and manufacturing scale up process.
  • Product testing; physical, chemical, analytical, sensory, and shelf-life testing.
  • Document technical information and prepare reports for trials.
  • Evaluate and approve ingredients.
  • Perform sensory and physical evaluation of weekly samples and creating the reports.
  • Working with food scientists to develop formulation and make new product samples.
