About The Position

This internship offers a unique opportunity to be part of a purpose-driven fintech startup, OneEthos, which is redefining digital solutions for community financial institutions. The company focuses on strengthening digital channels, growing loans and deposits profitably, and generating positive social, environmental, and financial returns. The remote-first team is composed of individuals passionate about sustainability, ethical solar financing, and impact banking. The internship provides valuable insights into the early stages of software development within a fintech startup, sustainability, solar lending, and the role of a technology partner to financial institutions. Interns will also gain insight into Climate First Bank, a OneEthos client and subsidiary.

Requirements

  • Education in Computer Science or a comparable major.
  • Technical understanding and tools to be successful in the role.
  • Initiative to build on education with high-profile projects, participation in targeted clubs, and proactive completion of certifications.
  • Passion for all things technology and a desire for broad exposure in this field.
  • Knowledgeable in Javascript, HTML/CSS, Node.js, Git, SQL or NoSQL Database, Typescript, MongoDB, Azure/AWS/Google Cloud, No-Code or Low-Code solutions.
  • Ability to take charge of work product and deliver consistently great results.
  • Ability to run with tasks once expectations are known, and know when to ask for help.
  • Understanding of task completion, ability to anticipate and mitigate slowdowns.
  • Ability to balance efficiency and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Support the transition from a legacy platform to a custom app for the Consumer and Business Account Opening Project, contributing to deposit growth for Climate First Bank.
  • Collaborate on launching a new product for Green Bank in Colorado and building technology for an "EcoStatement" to describe deposit impact, supporting revenue diversification and solar loan growth.
  • Assist the AI team in building a Better Business Bureau-inspired database for mission-driven small businesses to support deposit growth.
  • Automate the PM process (including PRD, Risk Assessments) using AI Agent + PM for the NextGen SDLC Project, aiming to increase development speed and quality.
  • Utilize ShadCN Design System, Tailwind CSS, Next.JS Framework/standard, and Cursor IDE with Cursor rules for the NextGen SDLC Project.
  • Conduct research and implement new technology, heavily utilizing AI and other resources to compile data for informed decision-making by developers and leadership.
  • Write and debug code for feature development, gaining real-world exposure to coding and debugging in a fintech startup environment, and working on small projects autonomously.
  • Troubleshoot software issues to help the internal and extended Climate First Bank team.
  • Work closely with other developers to improve product functionality and make meaningful improvements to existing products.
  • Support integrating 3rd-party APIs and toolsets.
  • Attend developer meetings to gain insights into the product development process and identify solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews and quality assurance activities.
  • Continually improve coding skills.
  • Champion the company's mission and adopt a commitment to social, economic, environmental, and racial justice.
