About The Position
Generis Tek is seeking an R&D Hardware Design Engineer for a contract role in Calabasas, CA. This position involves designing electro-mechanical assemblies, machined parts, sheet metal components, and packaging. The engineer will define mechanical constraints for PCBAs, perform tolerance stack-up analysis, create fabrication drawings, and source components. Responsibilities also include interfacing with suppliers, assembling and validating prototypes, and managing change orders in the Agile MRP system. The role requires attendance at project team meetings.
Requirements
- Proficient with Solid works 3D CAD and simulation tools
- Possesses understanding of sheet metal fabrication and machining
- Ability to read electrical schematic diagrams
- Experienced with GD&T
- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools
- Basic knowledge of PCB fabrication and design guidelines
Nice To Haves
- Basic knowledge of Adobe Illustrator a plus
- Experience with Agile a plus
Responsibilities
- Design electro-mechanical assemblies, machined parts, sheet metal component parts and corrugated/foam packaging
- Define mechanical constraints for PCBAs
- Perform tolerance stack up analysis
- Create fabrication drawings, parts lists and assembly drawings
- FEA and thermal analysis
- Source off the shelf components
- Interface with suppliers and Keysight operations to address DFM & DFA issues
- Assemble and validate prototype assemblies
- Create change orders in Agile MRP system
- Attend project team meetings
