About The Position

SJE is seeking an R&D Engineering Manager to support its SJE Rhombus and AMI Global brands. This role will be based in Detroit Lakes, MN. The company is a leading manufacturer of liquid level control products, including pump control panels, alarm systems, float switches, and level monitoring solutions. The AMI brand offers IoT connectivity solutions. The R&D Engineering Manager will lead a team in developing new products, focusing on Standard Panels, Alarms, and Level Sensors, ensuring timely delivery of innovative and quality products. This role involves collaboration with teams in Suzhou, China, for international product development and cost savings, and with the AMI Global team for IoT connected product development. The manager will also partner with sales, manufacturing engineers, and other internal teams, as well as external customers.

Requirements

Strong leadership skills managing engineering or product development teams
Experience in Hardware and Firmware design preferred
Willingness to incorporate new technologies into product design
New product development from concept through launch
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Strong collaboration and communication skills across technical and non-technical teams
Experience with regulatory approvals, product testing, and technical documentation
A 4-year degree in Engineering or equivalent degree
7-10 years of experience

Responsibilities

Lead a team of engineers and technicians in the development of new products with a focus on Standard Panels, Alarms and Level Sensors.
Deliver innovative and quality products to the industry on time.
Work in close collaboration with the team in Suzhou, China for growth, international product development, component sourcing and cost savings opportunities.
Work in partnership with the AMI Global team for IoT connected product development.
Work collaboratively with the sales team, manufacturing engineers, and multiple other internal teams as well as external customers.
