About The Position

The R&D Engineer contributes to ABB’s technology, software, product, and system development, identifying and implementing innovative solutions while working independently and as part of an R&D team. The role supports the Panelboards chapter, primarily the Power Panels or Lighting Panels Agile Team, in Bloomfield, Connecticut, using a hybrid work model. The position designs and develops R&D programs and supports their implementation in manufacturing, meeting business and product requirements for function, cost, reliability, manufacturability, and safety. It applies relevant processes, standards, guidelines, requirements, and design constraints; uses solid-modeling software to create models, assemblies, detailed drawings, and bills of materials; and leads or supports projects from ideation through manufacturing implementation. The engineer also contributes to continuous improvement of the chapter’s capabilities, skills, technical knowledge, performance, and culture.
