About The Position

This role focuses on the creation and development of VCSEL devices for advanced sensing technologies. The engineer will be responsible for ensuring simulation models accurately reflect device behavior, translating these models into practical designs, and planning/executing experiments to validate performance. A key aspect of the role involves collaborating with customers to understand their needs and deliver designs that exceed expectations. Additionally, the engineer will develop and implement methods for precise measurement and evaluation of VCSEL device performance.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in opto-electronic device development and characterization (epitaxy, fabrication, and testing).
• PhD degree or equivalent degree in Semiconductors, Laser Physics, or Engineering field.
• Innovative, use statistical thinking in decision-making and problem solving.
• Self-motivated, influential, and persistent.
• Strong interpersonal/teaming skills, able to communicate effectively with employees from all levels of the organization.
• Wear appropriate PPE and comply with site safety protocols.
• Work with and/or around gases/chemicals, both hazardous and non-hazardous.
• Ensure adherence to company’s values (ICARE).

• Epi, Wafer Fabrication and lab-based testing background.

Responsibilities

• Create and develop VCSEL devices for advanced sensing technologies and applications.
• Ensure simulation models accurately represent device behavior and convert them into practical, working designs.
• Plan, execute, and oversee experiments to test and confirm the effectiveness and performance of VCSEL designs.
• Work closely with customers to understand their needs and performance criteria and deliver designs that meet or surpass expectations.
• Create and apply methods and systems to precisely measure and evaluate the performance of VCSEL devices.
