Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Mathematics, Computer Engineering or a related field
1-3 years of experience applying machine learning in an academic or professional setting
Strong programming skills in Python, R, MATLAB or similar languages
Experience with machine learning and data science libraries such as Scikit learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, NumPy, Pandas or Keras
Solid understanding of data analytics and statistical methods
Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly explain technical finding

Nice To Haves

Master’s or Doctoral degree preferred

Responsibilities

Researching and evaluating state-of-the-art AI and machine learning models to identify potential applications across Smith+Nephew products
Preparing, cleaning and structuring large datasets for use in model development and training
Designing feature encodings to extract meaningful insights from complex data
Developing, coding and training machine learning models using modern data science tools
Validating and analyzing model performance using appropriate statistical techniques
Creating intuitive interfaces and tools that enable teams to explore and use AI models effectively
Collaborating closely within a multidisciplinary, fast paced R&D environment
