About The Position

This is a hybrid role in Little Fall, DE. At Agilent, we inspire and support discoveries that advance the quality of life by equipping laboratories worldwide with the instruments, software, consumables, and expertise they need to do their best work. This R&D Software/Firmware Engineer role is central to that mission—your embedded software will power the next generation of Agilent's Gas Chromatography and sample-handling products that scientists rely on to solve some of the world's most important analytical challenges. As a Software/Firmware Engineer in our R&D group, you will help design and develop new products for Agilent's Gas Chromatograph, Automated Sample Handling, and Automated Sample Preparation lines. You will own requirements, design, development, and test for embedded software applications, libraries, and tools, and collaborate closely with software, firmware, mechanical, and electrical engineers—as well as chemists—to build complete systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • 4+ years of programming experience in one or more languages (C/C++)
  • Hands on real-time control of hardware and embedded systems
  • Microprocessor or microcontroller development for bare-metal applications
  • Experience with device communication standards and protocols (TCP/IP, RS-232, RS-485)
  • Development and implementation of algorithms and data structures
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
