The Design Engineer develops the next generation of EFCO products, translating concepts into production-ready designs. The role takes products from concept through prototyping, testing, and field trials, then collaborates with the New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineer to hand off designs to production. The Design Engineer coordinates with the R&D team and ensures designs meet safety, quality, and performance standards. The role develops practical, low-risk design solutions that improve performance, usability, and manufacturability, while balancing design improvements with project timelines and timely delivery. It owns design projects through field trials, drives design progress and decisions, and collaborates with Manufacturing, NPI, and Quality teams. The Design Engineer also supports testing and field trials, preserves design intent throughout the project lifecycle, and guides junior engineers and technicians on rapid development projects. The position is full-time, regular, exempt, and currently classified as onsite. It reports to the R&D Team Lead, has no supervisory responsibility, and requires minimal travel of 5%–15%.
