We are looking for a detail-oriented and technically skilled R&D Assembly Technician to join our development team. In this role, you will partner closely with engineers to support the development, assembly, and testing of next-generation medical devices from prototype through pilot production. Requirements

  • Associate degree or higher in a related science or technical field preferred, or equivalent hands-on experience
  • 0–3 years of experience in manufacturing, assembly, or product development
  • Medical device experience preferred
  • Strong technical aptitude and mechanical dexterity
  • Experience with plastic part assembly, adhesive bonding, prototyping, or similar manufacturing techniques
  • Ability to work with small components and precision assemblies
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and procedures
  • Understanding of measurement tools and units
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English

Responsibilities

  • Build pilot production quantities of medical device products and subassemblies following written and verbal instructions
  • Support engineers with prototype builds, process improvements, and product development activities
  • Operate assembly and manufacturing equipment including adhesive dispensers, vertical shrinkers, braiders, tipping machines, drilling, punching, and measuring devices
  • Perform device and component testing in accordance with written protocols and procedures
  • Maintain accurate production and testing documentation including LHRs and other required records
  • Inspect incoming materials to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, procedures, and specifications
  • Track materials, tools, and processes throughout the build process
  • Identify equipment repair or upgrade needs and communicate them appropriately
  • Maintain compliance with all quality system requirements, SOPs, and safety procedures
  • Collaborate effectively with engineers, technicians, and cross-functional team members
