About The Position

Aldevron, a Danaher operating company, is seeking a Scientist I R&D to join their Analytical Method Development team. This role is responsible for performing hands-on laboratory experiments to support analytical method development, specifically for mRNA drug substance and drug product. The position offers the opportunity to shape cutting-edge cell and gene therapies through assay development. Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with Capillary Electrophoresis, HPLC, UPLC, and/or LC-MS method execution/development.
  • Experience with chromatography data systems such as Chromeleon, Empower, OpenLab, etc.
  • Skilled in experimental design with a history of using experimental outcomes to inform future development tasks.
  • Familiarity with molecular biology techniques such as, sample prep, qPCR, capillary electrophoresis, ELISA, etc.
  • Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related discipline with 1+ years of experience.
  • M.S. in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Biochemistry or related discipline with 3+ years of experience.
  • B.S. in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related discipline with 5+ years of experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a GMP environment.
  • Large molecule mass spec such as DNA, RNA, or proteins.
  • History of developing robust analytical methods for QC release testing.

Responsibilities

  • Performing hands-on laboratory experiments in support of analytical method development.
  • Supporting method development and testing of mRNA drug substance and drug product.
  • Shaping cutting-edge cell and gene therapies through assay development.
  • Growing into an SME role for multiple analytical methods.
  • Designing and executing novel analytical method research.
  • Designing and executing methods relating to client needs.
  • Training other scientists/analysts.
  • Representing Aldevron at conferences with presentations.
