About The Position

Hadrian is seeking an R&D Applications Engineer with sheet metal manufacturing expertise to support manufacturing processes using laser, punch, and press brake technology and help prepare production for critical programs. A major focus of the role is supporting manufacturing processes in an R&D environment and executing manufacturing projects as part of R&D development with Engineering. The position includes manufacturing parts to specification, operating and maintaining equipment, supporting technical needs at other factories, and training operators on advanced techniques and processes.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in sheet metal manufacturing or process engineering; punching experience is preferred.
• Strong understanding of flat pattern development, bend allowances, and GD&T.
• Proficiency in sheet metal processes, including punching, punch-laser combination, waterjet cutting, bending, and roll-forming.
• Clear communication skills and strong documentation and project planning skills.
• Must meet applicable U.S. Government export-control eligibility requirements, including being a U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain the required authorizations.

• Exposure to aerospace, defense, or other regulated manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Execute manufacturing projects as part of R&D development with Engineers.
• Manufacture parts to specification by cutting, forming, and bending.
• Use a broad range of tools, jigs, fixtures, and inspection equipment.
• Operate heavy machinery, including forklifts.
• Maintain machines and tooling inventory.
• Travel occasionally to other factories for technical support.
• Train operators on advanced techniques and processes.
