About The Position

This role involves contacting suppliers to gather purchasing information such as cost and lead-time. The Quote Representative will communicate requirements and interact effectively with suppliers, Sales, Products, and other Mouser departments to complete daily tasks efficiently. Key responsibilities include managing time and organization to follow up on quotes within required timeframes, analyzing the impact of decisions, and maintaining detail-oriented work habits with the ability to multi-task. The position demands a high level of customer service and professional interaction with internal and external contacts. The role requires effective formatting and completion of BOM Quotes using advanced Excel features and Mouser’s proprietary BOM tool, scrubbing BOMs for more line items, and conducting BOM audits for accuracy. Accurate documentation of all transactions, both internal and with suppliers, is essential. The Quote Representative will support local/regional Customer Service teams and other regions/teams as needed. Participation in the company's total quality process and professional representation of the company are expected. A desire to learn all aspects of the role, expand business and industry knowledge, and develop effective quoting skills with minimal assistance is crucial. The role also requires learning and understanding profit margins, markups, and competitive pricing, along with developing strong analytical and part number identification skills. Maintaining trustworthiness and confidentiality is paramount.

Requirements

Working knowledge of purchasing, business marketing or sales.
Proficient PC experience in a Microsoft Windows environment, Internet, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other software.
Excellent verbal and non-verbal communications skills and etiquette.
Interacts effectively with individuals and groups inside and outside the organization.
High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Contact Mouser’s suppliers to obtain all purchasing information including cost and lead-time.
Communicate requirements and interact effectively with suppliers, Sales, Products and other Mouser departments to efficiently complete daily tasks.
Efficiently complete follow-up on quotes via the proper channel(s) within Mouser’s required time.
Analyze the impact of decisions before execution.
Demonstrate the highest quality of customer service and effectively interact with all internal and external business contacts.
Effectively formats and completes BOM Quotes using advanced Excel features and Mouser’s proprietary BOM tool.
Scrub BOMs to capture more line items, and conducts BOM audits to ensure accuracy of results.
Accurately document all transactions in the quote, both internal and with the supplier.
Support the local/regional Customer Service teams and provide support for other regions/teams as required.
Support and participate in the company total quality process; represent the company in a professional manner.
Show a desire to learn all facets of the role as well as to continue to expand knowledge of the business and industry.
Learn effective quoting skills to be able to produce quotes with minimal assistance.
Possess the desire and ability to learn and understand profit margins, markups and competitive pricing.
Possess the desire and ability to have strong analytical and part number identification skills.
