About The Position

Under direction of the Criminal Justice Supervisor, you will oversee all aspects of Hancock County's Opiate Response team grant. You will work with clients and families who have overdosed on opiates and possess the ability and interest in the engagement phases of service. You will also have the ability to effectively work with clients with high resistance, denial, or impairment due to chronic dependence.

Requirements

  • Possess any combination of education, training and work experience which indicates possession of the skills, knowledge and abilities needed to perform the job requirements.
  • HSD/GED with personal lived experience in the mental health/substance abuse system is an acceptable qualification.
  • Ohio driver's license
  • Maintain auto insurance
  • Earn CPR/First Aid certification
  • Willing to submit to background check and fingerprinting

Responsibilities

  • Work with recovery providers to create “fast tracks” to treatment and recovery via the development of referrals that triage clients having an overdose event.
  • Receive overdose event data and schedule visits within 72 hours.
  • Work with the Health Department to coordinate the disbursement of Naloxone to patient/clients.
  • Provide a wide array of culturally proficient, recovery oriented, and trauma interventions.
  • Provide engagement services that are meet the needs of age, gender, language, sexual orientation, ethnicity and cultural background
  • Record, compile and examine visitation and event data as outlined in the grant.
  • Provide follow-up contact to all non-referred clients to identify linkages to community resources that reinforce the recovering person.
  • Provide follow-up contact to all treatment referred clients to ensure there is a treatment “home” and appropriate recovery services after withdrawal management is completed.
  • Assist the client by eliciting community resources to addressing barriers to treatment engagement until a hand-off can be made including obtaining funding, scheduling initial appointments, and transportation to and from appointments.
