This is a part-time, afternoon position for a Quick Lube Technician. The primary responsibility is to lubricate the moving parts of vehicles. The role involves training with an experienced technician for 30 to 60 days, with all work verified by the experienced technician. The technician will perform work as outlined on the repair order with efficiency and accuracy, adhering to dealership and factory standards. This role also includes selling lubrication, safety inspection, and related services, as well as maintaining customer records. Key tasks include draining and refilling oil, replacing filters, inspecting and replenishing vehicle fluids, checking tire pressure, lubricating moving parts, and communicating with the parts department. The technician must also report machinery defects, document all work, stay updated on manufacturer technical bulletins, ensure vehicle cleanliness, and notify the service advisor of any changes to the vehicle's appearance or condition. Maintaining quality service and a neat, clean shop area are essential. The technician is accountable for dealership-owned tools and manuals, ensuring they are returned properly. Compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including hazardous waste disposal and OSHA Right-to-Know, is required, along with the proper use of safety equipment and operation of tools and equipment in a safe manner. Reporting safety issues immediately to management and participating in manufacturer-sponsored training programs are also part of the role. The position requires setting a good example through a healthy work demeanor and positive teamwork, representing the company positively in the community.
