The Quarry Supervisor reports to the Plant Manager. The Quarry Supervisor directs the activities of 10 or more hourly employees. Provide hands-on leadership to the hourly workforce and management of all daily operations including subcontractors in the effort of meeting the production goals and to strive for continuous improvement in a safe efficient manner. Implement the long term, short term, and daily mine plan. Participate in the planning process as necessary, providing input to the Plant Manager, QC Manager, Health & Safety Coordinator. Manage all day to day quarry operation activities; stripping, drilling, blasting, dump management, road maintenance, efficient production, the wellbeing of the stationary and the mobile equipment, water management, general grounds management. Maintain record keeping and reporting of operating activities and equipment downtimes. Supervise blasting operations to meet safety, environment, quality and production demands. Perform routine daily hazard inspections and ground conditions surveys. Perform daily review of environmental aspects of the operation. Ensure that any incidents are reported and corrective actions are taken. Provide trouble shooting and guidance for operating, quality and mechanical aspects of all related equipment. Establishment and follow up of all quarry related operating procedures and practices mobile equipment such as drilling, mobile equipment operation, blasting, road maintenance and other as applicable. Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience
  • Supervisory experience in a union environment preferred.
  • Solid computer skills (Data reporting, Microsoft Office, CAD / Mine planning tools, and the Google Suite)
  • Travel between other NER Agg locations as directed by Plant Manager
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
