The Quantum Software Engineer - Quantum Error Correction (QEC) is responsible for designing and optimizing error correcting codes (QECs) for experimental quantum computing devices, modeling and analyzing QEC schemes, and advancing the understanding of QEC. This role involves identifying and pursuing research that advances the understanding of QEC theory, techniques, and implementation, developing and optimizing QEC protocols tailored to experimental gate-based quantum computing devices (with a primary focus on neutral atom platforms), and using mathematical models and numerical simulations to analyze the behavior and performance of QEC protocols. The engineer will also develop and implement custom QEC decoders, contribute to the identification and mitigation of noise processes in quantum systems, and collaborate with experimental physicists and software engineers to bridge the gap between theoretical concepts and practical implementation. Communication of cutting-edge research, engagement with the scientific community through publications and presentations, and staying up-to-date with the latest developments in QEC are also key aspects of the role. Additionally, the position involves providing guidance and support to other team members to foster a collaborative research environment.
