Infleqtion is seeking a self-motivated, technically skilled physicist to help advance its quantum-computing mission. The role focuses on developing and improving neutral-atom quantum-computing systems and subsystems, including hardware, quantum-gate protocols, lasers and optical systems, calibration, control, and system integration. The position involves translating technical goals into experimental plans and measurable performance targets, using experiments and physics-based models to understand system behavior, and carrying defined technical work from planning through implementation and validation. The physicist will develop Python tools for experiment control, data analysis, calibration, automation, and hardware integration, and will own assigned subsystems through testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, documentation, and routine operation. The role collaborates across physics, software, electrical, mechanical, and systems-engineering teams, and may include providing technical guidance to junior team members and supervising interns. Work is normally performed in an office and laboratory environment around technical equipment, including computers and lasers. Travel of up to 10% may be required. The role may require access to information protected under U.S. export-control laws; an employment offer may be conditioned on authorization to receive controlled software or technology without sponsorship for an export license.
