Infleqtion is seeking a self-motivated, technically skilled experimental physicist to help commercialize atom-based quantum technologies and advance its Quantum Computing mission. The role focuses on designing, building, calibrating, operating, and improving neutral-atom quantum computing systems and subsystems. The physicist will conduct research and development across quantum processor hardware, quantum-gate protocols, lasers and optical systems, calibration, control, and system integration. The successful candidate will translate technical goals into experimental plans, subsystem requirements, and measurable performance targets; design and analyze experiments and physics-based models; and independently take well-defined technical work from planning through implementation and validation. The role also involves developing Python tools for experiment control, data analysis, calibration, automation, and hardware integration, and owning assigned subsystems through testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, documentation, and routine operation. Collaboration with physics, software, electrical, mechanical, and systems-engineering teams is expected, as is providing technical guidance to junior team members and supervising interns when appropriate. Work is normally performed in an office and laboratory environment around technical equipment, including computers and lasers. Up to 10% travel may be required. Any required personal protective equipment will be provided and must be used in accordance with company requirements. Employment may be conditioned on authorization to receive technology controlled under U.S. export-control laws without sponsorship for an export license.
