About The Position

This job is responsible for supporting analytical work efforts for various projects within a Line of Business or business discipline. Key responsibilities include leveraging databases to acquire client and performance data, transforming extracted data into meaningful insights and trends, and delivering those insights to leaders to make complex business decisions. Job expectations include working with business partners to understand, coordinate, and deliver agreed upon priorities while communicating complex data outputs and delivering the appropriate summary and data required. In this role, the analyst will be responsible for the data product development life cycle from intake to design to implementation. This includes but is not limited to: Creating Data Products: Engineering, developing, and certifying data products to be automated and published for broad consumption Documenting Data Products: Partnering with the Enablement and Governance function to ensure the appropriate process, oversight, tools, and methods are applied when building these data products Creating the Contextual Layer: Partnering with Subject Matter Experts to establish and develop the semantics (definitions, rules, business logic) required to curate context for our business users and make the data products ready for AI and BI Re-imagining Analytics: Experimenting and evolving how we apply AI in our analytical techniques and outputs to develop standards, guardrails, best practices and playbooks for how we work going forward. This may include engagement in technology, tool, technique and process evaluations Proactive Insight Generation: Leveraging best-in-class tools, data and analytical capabilities to translate complex concepts and generate actionable insights.

Requirements

  • Ability to use data tools and techniques to find and deliver data from various sources of record
  • Proven communications skills in describing complex data to inform strategic insights and decisions
  • Coursework in finance, math/statistics and/or computer science
  • Demonstrated experience as an innovative thinker, self-starter, and creative problem solver. Is intellectually curious, and challenges status quo
  • Ability to adapt well, learn quickly, and experiment with a variety of techniques, tools, and methodologies. Displays technical and analytical aptitude necessary to perform data analysis, trending, and other statistical techniques
  • Should be well-versed in a variety of programming languages and techniques (e.g. Python/SAS, SQL, Data frame manipulation and familiarity with Machine Learning Frameworks)
  • Demonstrates crisp communication skill sets and ability to communicate complex concepts for all audiences, with exposure in storytelling and presentation-development for all levels of the organization

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree or higher in finance, math/statistics, computer science or another quantitative field (for example, engineering, operations management)
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in finance, math/statistics, computer science or another quantitative field (for example, engineering, operations management)
  • Experience with Statistical Modeling and Machine Learning techniques
  • SharePoint, MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint), Agile Tools (JIRA, Confluence etc)
  • Experience with Java, Spark/Scala via command line, Python or other software applications
  • Project planning experience, including project scoping, timing needs, and reporting
  • Ability to understand and implement techniques discussed in machine learning research papers

Responsibilities

  • Supports the extraction of data using a variety of a programming languages, such as SQL, SAS, Python, or Spark/Scala, and applies knowledge of relational and non-relational database systems housed on both on-premise and off-premise (hybrid) platforms
  • Connects provisioned data across multiple sources and performs necessary transformations utilizing both technical, business, and process knowledge to transform data into meaningful values and insights
  • Performs quantitative techniques and analysis on customer, transaction, and performance data with the guidance from other analysts and supervisors, based on questions provided by business partners, and provides actionable insights for business partners to make informed decisions.
  • Follows requirements developed by other analysts and supervisors to perform required research, analytics, and exploration on appropriate and accurate data sources to provide appropriate deliverables
  • Communicates complex subjects in a simple and engaging manner to non-technical and technical business partners using software such as Power Point, Word, Excel, and Tableau
  • Assists with conducting quality comparison checks on analysis output and escalates data inconsistencies, gaps, or issues to leadership
  • Follows quality workflow process and documentation requirements to adhere to standards and provide business continuity
