About The Position

The Quality Visual Inspector is responsible for reviewing and interpreting drawings and other technical data requirements to perform visual and dimensional checks on WIP and finished goods before releasing shipment. This role involves using a microscope and other basic inspection equipment, complying with all quality, compliance, and safety policies, and keeping management informed of any product quality issues. The inspector will also enter data related to scrap, rework, rejections, claims, and inspections, and must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment to meet customer needs.

Requirements

  • Attention to visual and written detail
  • Ability to use and read measurement inspection equipment, including but not limited to calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, visual surface comparators, depth mics, etc.
  • Effective communication skills, which include verbal and written skills in English
  • Must be able to multi-task, have a positive attitude, and handle pressure under deadlines in a professional manner.
  • Organization
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and various specifications
  • Ability to work with a high magnification scope for extended periods of time
  • Must pass a vision screening and color test
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Must be able to sit or stand for up to 10 hours a day
  • Min 2 years of experience performing QA inspection in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to use and read measuring instruments.
  • Candidates will need to qualify as a US Person, which is defined as a US Citizen, a Permanent Resident who does not work for a foreign company/foreign government/foreign governmental agency or organization, or a political asylee in compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing and interpreting drawings and other technical data requirements to perform visual and dimensional checks on WIP and finished goods before releasing shipment.
  • Using a microscope and other basic inspection equipment (micrometers, calipers, depth gage, height gage, etc.).
  • Complying with all training, quality, compliance and safety policies, practices, procedure and Quality Management System Requirements.
  • Keeping management aware of any problems or potential problems in the quality of the product.
  • Entering scrap, rework, rejection, claim, and inspection data.
  • Working well in a fast-paced environment to meet customer needs.
  • Performing all other responsibilities assigned by the Manager.
