About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is seeking a Quality Technician. The position supports the Quality Assurance Manager, Quality Assurance Engineers, and Operations, with a primary focus on carrying out quality initiatives to reduce negative impacts on customers. The technician supports deployment of Eaton Quality Management System elements, including PFMEAs, control plans, special characteristics, measurement system analyses (MSAs), and process capabilities.

The role includes investigating non-conforming products, analyzing failures, performing inspections and audits, maintaining quality data and documentation, and supporting quality processes across production. The position is listed for 1st shift, with flexibility to cover second shift when necessary. The hourly rate is $29.00. Eaton notes that pay is a general guideline and depends on candidate skills, experience, qualifications, and market and business considerations.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED equivalent.
• Certification in Stacking, Lead Assembly, Tanking, Welding, Final Assembly, or as a Utility.
• Ability to be responsible for one’s own work under minimal supervision and instruction.
• Ability to work overtime when required.
• Ability to use good judgment when explaining procedures and test results to customers.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Competency with Microsoft Office, OPS, SAP, QPulse, and ITS.

Nice To Haves

• Education in AC/DC fundamentals or equivalent knowledge of electrical prints and schematics.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• One year of experience working in quality assurance.
• Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and Minitab.

Responsibilities

• Participate in failure mode analysis on failed units, handle field-return receipt and return actions, and attend meetings or calls about field issues.
• Investigate causes of non-conforming product and initiate corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Develop, modify, and maintain quality data collection and test/data collection databases.
• Perform audits and inspections of finished products, work-in-process, and raw materials at various locations, comparing results with specifications to determine quality status.
• Read and interpret blueprints and process documentation.
• Perform calibration duties as required.
• Create and maintain documentation, including visual operating procedures (VOPs) and product quality guidelines (PQGs), and evaluate existing measurement and documentation for changes or enhancements.
• Support the Quality department in creating process maps, control plans, and checklists as required by changes in source, process, or design.
• Collect data for DPPM and CONC.
• Maintain and communicate the Quality Alert process.
• Train new quality employees on job requirements and quality standards.
• Flex shift hours to cover second shift when necessary and work overtime when required.
