About The Position

As a Quality Technician, you play a crucial role in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and conformance. Your primary responsibility is to perform a variety of inspection, verification, and containment duties to ensure that the products meet specifications and requirements. By evaluating parts produced on various lines and flagging suspect or nonconforming parts, you support engineering with containment processes and promote a culture of quality to minimize the number of defective parts. After training, this role will transition to a 5:30pm - 5:30am, 3-4-4-3 shift schedule, including every other weekend. Under this schedule, you will work 3 days the first week and 4 days the next, repeating on a rotating basis.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least three (3) years in a manufacturing work environment with a solid understanding of quality assurance, quality control and customer requirements in high-volume, tight-tolerance process manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in using hand inspection gauges, laser profilometer, and contractor inspection equipment.
  • Experience with CPK statistical process control and ISO 9001 standards.
  • Proficient in Measurement System Analysis techniques, such as Gage R&R studies.
  • Experience with visual inspection systems and programming.
  • Experience with basic measurement and inspection tools.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, organization, and time management.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in quality assurance, industrial engineering, or manufacturing engineering, or related field from an accredited university.
  • Yellow Belt Six Sigma certification.

Responsibilities

  • Verify and document product and process conformance to company standards and requirements.
  • Collect and analyze samples from finished goods prior to leaving the production plant.
  • Contain and report suspect products and processes not in control.
  • Conduct measurement system analysis.
  • Verify and document customer returned product to assist in identification of root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.
  • Document and report discrepancies and measurement results.
  • Assist with root cause investigations for product and process issues.
  • Support the development and improvement of the work environment to reach targets for Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Customer Parts Per Million (PPM), customer complaints, scrap, and other company and department measures.
  • Monitor key equipment process parameters.
  • Maintain inspection, measurement, and test equipment within the department.
  • Perform sample layouts for production part approvals.
  • Process audits and contamination control sampling to ensure ongoing production meets current quality standards.
  • Communicate emerging and trending quality issues to prevent negative impacts on production.
  • Provide day-to-day production support on quality concerns.
  • Develop and implement short/long-term countermeasures to quality problems.
  • Work from schematics, diagrams, layouts, defined plans, and written/verbal instructions to support production.
  • Address and resolve quality issues efficiently.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional societies.
