Our well-established manufacturing client located in the Capital Region is seeking a Quality Technician to support its quality assurance and production teams. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that products, processes, and documentation meet strict internal standards and customer requirements. The Quality Technician is responsible for performing inspections, audits, and testing throughout the production process to ensure all products meet defined specifications and quality standards. Requirements
- Familiarity with blueprint reading and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
- Hands-on experience using measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and unit conversions
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
- Capable of interpreting technical documents, drawings, and procedures
- Comfortable working independently while also contributing to a team environment
Nice To Haves
- Technical certificate or associate/bachelor's degree in a related field
- Experience in a manufacturing or quality control environment
- Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (such as SAP)
- Bilingual abilities (English/Spanish or English/other languages)
Responsibilities
- Conduct in-process and final inspections of manufactured parts to ensure compliance with specifications and blueprints
- Measure dimensions and tolerances using precision tools such as calipers, micrometers, and other specialized equipment
- Verify that products meet both internal standards and customer-specific requirements before shipment
- Record, analyze, and interpret test results to determine product acceptance or rejection
- Perform internal audits of processes and products to maintain adherence to quality standards
- Ensure all documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with regulatory and customer requirements
- Maintain production records, process flow documentation, and quality logs
- Support ongoing safety and loss prevention initiatives
- Work closely with manufacturing personnel, supervisors, and customer representatives to address quality-related questions
- Provide guidance to production staff regarding materials, processes, and product requirements
- Assist in reviewing new and existing products to confirm proper documentation and compliance
