About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Quality Technician in Greenwood, SC. As the Quality Technician you will work directly with Mfg. Engineers, Supervisors, lead people, and operations to improve quality and develop continuous improvement programs/projects for new and existing products. You will also assist in determining project priorities and project expectations with operations and other cross-functional teams. In your day-to-day you will monitor processes to ensure compliance to corporate quality principles. The expected annual salary range for this role is $56000 - $83000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Requirements

  • Associate degree from an accredited institution OR High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 10 years of medium voltage switchgear experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of reading mechanical drawings and electrical schemes.

Nice To Haves

  • Two-year technical degree in Engineering.
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or equivalent.
  • Proficient in MS office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneDrive, Teams).
  • Experience with Forms, SharePoint, Visio, and Power Bi, and Power Automate.
  • Experience with SQL Server Management, Visual Studio.
  • Good communication skills, able to relay pertinent information to all levels of the organization (internal and external) and to any vendors, suppliers and/or customers.
  • General understanding of computer programming concepts.
  • Experience with ISO-9001 documentation, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze assigned VSM area’s quality metrics (Scrap, Rework, DPU, CQM data) for trends and work with a cross-functional team to positively impact the metrics.
  • Make, manage, and submit required documentation for purchases made on company provided AMEX and/or Visa card in accordance with the company P-card holder policy.
  • Perform Virtual Customer Witness Tests using video equipment.
  • Communicate quality concerns with all levels of the company (internal and external) through varied forms of media (Email, PowerPoint, Video Conferencing, etc.).
  • Occasionally provide backup services as a Scrap Coordinator by recognizing, quarantining, and dispositioning any Non-Conforming Material (NCM) discovered at the site through manual or mechanical means (Forklift).
  • Lead and conduct ISO/EQMS compliance audits both internally and at other determined Eaton sites.
  • Perform problem-solving analysis of quality metrics and lead initiates to drive for root-cause determination and corrective/preventive actions (site specific and external sister sites).
  • Work with engineering and/or drafting to update BOMS, drawings and/or wiring schemes per feedback from EESS and/or other Eaton personnel.
  • Provide prompt responses to external customer warranty concerns, that from an investigation may result in drawing changes, scheduling of EESS to perform warranty work and/or shipping of parts and/or material to customer site.
  • Train and inform all levels of the organization of all the corporate/divisional quality systems and procedures.
  • Become familiar with all ISO, EQMS and IPC Requirements.
  • May be required to travel to vendors/supplier to conduct Supplier Site Assessments (SSAs).
  • Administrator of multiple information systems/sites/databases: TDM, all local SharePoint Sites (excluding MOL/FED), Customer Witness Test (CWT) Database, Electronic Non-Conformance Material Record/Scrap (ENCMR), and Local site ISO document repository [Controlled Document/Procedures] (MQ1).
  • Researches, analyzes, and controls the purchase all quality-related tools (Calibrated tools) [exception of Test Tables].
