About The Position

The Quality Technician is responsible for ensuring that products meet all qualitative and quantitative standards, including sensory, consistency, legality, and safety requirements. This role involves regular testing, inspection, and cross-functional collaboration with departments such as Commodities, Purchasing, Production, Maintenance, Health & Safety, and Sales & Marketing. The position is primarily on the afternoon Shift but requires flexibility to support weekend coverage and other shifts as needed.

Requirements

  • Food Science Diploma/degree or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years' work experience in food manufacturing.
  • Well-developed sensory evaluation skills.
  • Highly detail‑oriented with the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong decision‑making skills and sound judgment.
  • Excellent time‑management and organizational abilities.
  • Able to work independently or collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strict adherence to GMP, food safety standards, and personal hygiene policies.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Ability to analyze data used in trending and quality reports.
  • Proficient with standard computer applications, including MS Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new systems and software quickly to support automation and data analysis.

  • Occasional travel may be required to Co-Manufacturer locations in the United States and Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular quality checks on finished goods (R&G and Single Serve formats) and accurately enter results into the system.
  • Calibrate and clean laboratory and production floor instruments and testing equipment.
  • Determine disposition of non‑compliant WIP or finished product and initiate product holds when required.
  • Perform preparation, sensory evaluation, and release of in‑process products.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, including documenting findings and following up on corrective actions.
  • Update, organize, and maintain controlled documentation.
  • Prepare product samples for laboratory analysis.
  • Investigate customer complaints, perform root‑cause analysis, and complete required follow‑ups.
  • Conduct validation reports and risk assessments.
  • Facilitate and conduct quality training for staff.
  • Understand, apply and actively participate in maintaining product quality and food safety program practices including BRC, HACCP, FSQM, QA / QC, GMP, Sanitation and good hygiene practices.
  • Understand, apply and actively participate in maintaining the Health and Safety program including safe lifting, lock‑out/tag‑out, incident prevention, and personal safety procedures.
  • Support equity, diversity, and inclusivity programs.
  • Perform additional quality technician duties as required to support production and operational needs.
