About The Position

This role is responsible for ensuring product quality by inspecting, auditing, and reporting on materials, processes, and products. The Quality Technician will apply and ensure adherence to quality, environmental, health, and safety standards. This position plays a key role in maintaining quality standards, participating in continuous improvement, and training other employees on quality procedures and concepts.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with quality tools (Corrective actions, PFMEA, Plan Do Check Act, R&R, 5 Why, Statistics).
  • Exposure to regulations and ISO standards.
  • Some knowledge of injection molding, machines, tooling, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Leadership skills.
  • Very strong communication skills.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exposure to office tools such as Excel and Word.
  • Autonomous.
  • Disciplined and organized.

Responsibilities

  • Release products that meet critical customer requirements.
  • Request production stoppage or process improvement upon detection of quality problems.
  • Stop production in the event of a quality issue.
  • Segregate and contain production lots manufactured while a quality issue is being corrected to prevent shipment to the customer.
  • Stop shipment in the event of a quality issue.
  • Inspect, audit, and report on materials, processes, and products using measuring instruments and techniques to ensure conformance with quality standards.
  • Assist and carry out quality instructions as defined on control plans, sampling plans, auto control documents, and work instructions.
  • Print and prepare Quality Documents.
  • Set up Quality Workstations and approve start-up parts prior to production.
  • Fill out and complete quality documentation, file completed documentation, and clear all Quality tools and gages from the work area upon job completion.
  • Verify Line clearance.
  • Issue MRB (NCPR) reports and perform quarantine operations as required.
  • Train and assist in training permanent and temporary employees on MSS packets, auto control documents, and work instructions, including maintaining training records.
  • Assist and provide positive promotion of Quality Concepts, New Quality Directives, and Quality Requirements.
  • Participate in advanced elements of the Quality System, including Calibration tasks, Device history records, and process validations.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities and general maintenance of quality areas.
  • Run workplace audits and analyze results.
  • Ensure the application of quality, environmental, health, and safety standards.
  • Ensure that the quality policy and requirements are known in the shift by training operators and floor personnel.
  • Participate in the reduction of the cost of non-quality through scrap review and proper training.
