About The Position

This role involves performing receiving, final, or customer-based verification/inspection on product before shipping direct to customer stock. The technician must ensure product and paperwork align with specifications, drawings, purchase orders, and processes. Utilizing expertise, they will verify product and document packages against engineering/customer drawings, purchase orders, and other contractual requirements as specified by operations. This position complies with AS9100 / ISO 9001 and other quality system standards.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Position may require travel
  • Experience with receiving inspection, in process inspection, final inspection, source inspection, or 1st article validation including AS9102 FAIR’s
  • Knowledge of QA process with nonconforming material
  • Customer delegated source quality inspection or DQR/DSQR certifications or experience with Collins/UTAS Aerospace inspection is a major plus
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National, or a lawful permanent resident as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(20), or a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).

Responsibilities

  • Perform receiving, final, or customer based verification/inspection on product before shipping direct to customer stock.
  • Ensure product and paperwork is in accordance to specifications, drawings, purchase orders, and processes.
  • Verify product and document packages against engineering/customer drawings, purchase orders and other contractual requirements as specified by operations.
  • Comply with AS9100 / ISO 9001 and other quality system standards.
  • Assist engineering with the review of customer, industry and other technical specifications to ensure compliance.
  • Conduct random, scheduled and/or unscheduled audits to determine conformance to customer specifications and technical drawings, manufacturers' specifications, assembly manual requirements, company processes and procedures and other such specifications and requirements.
  • Perform root cause analyses by inspecting and evaluating material returns, reviewing documentation, interviewing employees and assessing conformance to quality assurance standards to determine the cause of defects, malfunctions or process breakdowns.
  • Maintain data and logs data quality, returned material, supplier information, nonconformance to build procedures, errors, findings and recommendations to use for trend analyses.
  • Prepare required product return documentation to supplier for failure analysis and monitor corrective action response.
  • Coordinate or assist in developing and maintaining all International Organization for Standardization (ISO) system documentation, including work instructions and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Identify, investigate, and participate in opportunities to improve processes and procedures, to include various key performance metrics.
  • Perform drawing, specification and other technical documentation review.
  • Other duties as assigned.
