About The Position

The Quality Technician II is responsible for verifying product is in conformance with customer and company specifications. This role is critical to producing quality product and not releasing non-conforming product into the market. Failure to meet quality standards can result in product not working in the customer’s application. Job descriptions are influenced by environmental change, company’s objectives, products and processes. They can change at any time due to business needs.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 3+ years’ experience properly reading and interpreting gages, inspection instruments and inspection techniques to determine part conformance.
  • Intermediate or above ability to read, interpret and calculate stacked blueprint GD&T dimensions in order to determine if a part is manufactured within customer or company specifications.
  • Excellent problem solving skills: uses rigorous logic and methods to solve problems producing effective solutions to problem statements.
  • Knowledge and use of a wide variety of precision measuring equipment.
  • Strong communication skills to report findings and collaborate across departments.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Is action oriented and independent.
  • Has a heightened sense of urgency and works at a quick pace (high energy).
  • Attention to detail: focus on accuracy, completeness and following standards, rules, regulations and requirements.
  • Cooperative with others and usually helpful to the rest of the team in getting work done.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed inspections of aerospace components and assemblies, ensuring compliance with industry standards and specifications including first articles.
  • Utilize precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, and other measurement instruments to measure dimensions and tolerances accurately.
  • Inspect materials, components, and finished products for defects or non-conformance.
  • Maintain detailed inspection records and documentation of results.
  • Ensure that all measurement and testing equipment is properly calibrated and functioning within established tolerances.
  • Provide assistance with calibration activities, ensuring that measuring tools are calibrated according to industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with engineers, production staff, and other team members to address quality concerns and drive improvements.
  • Identify areas for process improvements and contribute ideas to enhance the quality control systems.
  • Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards within the quality inspection processes.
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications to document inspection results, analyze data, and create reports as needed.
  • Give feedback to engineers and brainstorm with others on the prototype team.
  • Read, understand and comply with all quality and safety regulations.
