About The Position

The Quality Technician ensures that Kohler Vikrell® products are manufactured in accordance with established function, design, and other quality and technical specifications. In this role you will regularly perform qualification and functional testing of new Vikrell® products. You will work 8-hour shifts for 5 days and work will include sitting, standing, bending, twisting, and lifting. This position also rotates between 1st, 2nd and 3rd shift every 3 months. You will be an ideal candidate if you are an experienced Quality Technician and are willing to learn and adapt to new and changing processes and environments.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work in the US without restrictions or sponsorship.
  • Effective communication skills for manufacturing production processes.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to perform the essential duties of the position, including bending, lifting, and pushing weights of up to 35 pounds occasionally.
  • Physical ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Successful completion of a drug screen and background check.
  • Consistent attendance and work performance.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of general quality standards and of basic manufacturing operating methods, so that a continuous, concerted effort can be made toward maintaining product standards.
  • Must be familiar with general office computer programs and have proficiency with Microsoft office.
  • Previous experience using SAP software is preferred.
  • Previous experience with a strong work ethic that includes the ability to work 8-, 10-, or 12-hour shifts while sitting, standing, bending, twisting, and lifting.
  • The flexibility to change shifts as the plant moves into future phases of production and operability.
  • A positive, adaptable, hard-working, and patient mindset.
  • A willingness to help with activities that may be outside of your job scope, especially as plant operations transition from the construction/set-up phase to the final “go-live” phase.
  • Prior work as a Quality Technician or in Quality Assurance, experience in a high‑volume manufacturing environment, and hands‑on experience with problem solving and applied statistical methods.

Responsibilities

  • Perform selective and assigned inspections and performance tests to determine that established methods and product standards are being met.
  • Analyze and report deviations from established quality standards.
  • Assist in establishing quality control inspection procedures and recommend action in this area.
  • Analyze Vikrell® performance and determine causes of poor performance, report results to management verbally and in writing.
  • Record test results in the appropriate special project files and worksheets, maintaining project number integrity.
  • Maintain test equipment; calibrate gauges and meters as required and documents results.
  • Perform special assignments as directed.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities of inspection, audit, and testing processes.
  • Maintains workplace in a safe, neat, and orderly manner.
