About The Position

This role involves auditing and monitoring quality requirements, conducting inspections on products throughout the manufacturing process, and documenting findings. The Quality Technician will perform various types of inspections on raw materials, components, and sub-assemblies, interpret engineering prints, and ensure product identification and traceability. This position requires collaboration with other departments to resolve inspection issues and maintain compliance with specifications. The role also includes data entry into various company systems and adherence to all company policies regarding quality, safety, and housekeeping.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years in a manufacturing or similar environment.
  • Must possess basic writing skills.
  • Competent in use of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Windows software.
  • Must be detail oriented and well organized.
  • Must demonstrate ability to simultaneously handle multiple duties, prioritize, follow through on all tasks and projects, and meet pre-determined deadlines with limited supervision.
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills with internal and external customers and in a 1-on-1 or team situation.
  • Consistently demonstrate a positive company image to K&N customers.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding and use of basic measuring tools (Calipers, micrometer & angle gage) preferred.
  • Competent in use of K&N’s Business Management System (BMS).
  • Previous ISO 9001 experience helpful.
  • Previous Quality Assurance experience helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Audit and monitor quality requirements in accordance with the company quality assurance policies and specifications.
  • Conduct inspections on products at all stages of the manufacturing process.
  • Document and report inspection findings and results in the BMS via Task entries.
  • Perform mechanical, dimensional and visual/cosmetic inspection of raw materials, components, and sub-assemblies as per Inspection Plans and Specification Requirements.
  • Read and interpret specifications and Engineering prints.
  • Perform product identification and traceability activities, as required.
  • Work with other company personnel to resolve inspection questions.
  • Communicate/interface with Product Managers to ensure product is in compliance with Specifications.
  • Communicate/interface with Purchasing to address/resolve findings on supplied products.
  • Communicate/interface with Area Supervisors on non-conformities that have originated in their area of responsibility.
  • Document information on the computer in various databases and other internal programs.
  • Follow all clean-up and housekeeping procedures.
  • Comply with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations.
