About The Position

Caterpillar Remanufacturing is seeking a Quality Technician I for their Corinth, MS facility. This role involves inspecting components based on work instructions, which may include standard work, blueprints, visual aids, or reusability guidelines. The position is in a fast-paced, safety and quality-focused environment, requiring attention to detail and self-motivation within a team setting. The role may involve using specialized equipment, interpreting blueprints, understanding torque requirements, operating various tools, and potentially handling heavy components and parts. Cross-training in other positions within Salary Grade 2 may be required. Candidates will utilize computer systems, including email, and work with a degree of autonomy.

Requirements

  • Basic computer experience (ability to read standard work documents and enter data).
  • Required to read/write and interpret documents.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel.
  • Prior use of hoists.
  • Knowledge of engines and components.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous forklift experience.
  • Previous inspection experience.
  • Previous experience reading and interpreting blueprints or electronic visual aids.
  • Experience with tooling (hand tools, air tools, pneumatic tools, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspection of components based upon work instructions which may include standard work, blueprints, visual aids or reusability guidelines.
  • Work in a fast-paced, safety and quality focused environment.
  • Interpret blueprints and utilize Factory Process/EPIX/MES/PinPoint as needed.
  • Understand torque requirements and processes.
  • Operate hand tools, cordless tools, gauges, vibration tools.
  • Use an overhead hoist to move large components.
  • Load and unload parts.
  • Utilize heavy equipment, reach trucks, sit-down forklifts, overhead cranes, and/or electric pallet jack to move parts in and out of area.
  • Wear a respirator suit to clean engines and components.
  • Perform order filling, processing, storing/picking of parts, materials, equipment, and supplies.
  • Operate automated packaging equipment.
  • Check incoming core/material and enter data.
  • Cross train in other positions up to and including Salary Grade 2.
  • Utilize various computer systems including email on a regular basis.
  • Work in an environment without close supervision.
