About The Position

The Quality Technician I will ensure product and process standards are met through incoming, in-process and/or final inspection of product. In addition, the QT-I will also be responsible for maintaining quality records for product. The position reports directly to the Manufacturing Supervisor.

Requirements

  • High School diploma and 3 years electrical/mechanical experience
  • Read and understand basic mechanical / electrical blueprints, procedures, and work instructions to perform process/final inspections for VFDs.
  • Utilize measurement tools as required to help facilitate inspections
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Intermediate computer skills required: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) knowledge.
  • Basic math and problem solving skills
  • SAP basic navigation skills
  • Validation of Trace, Part set-up, completing inspection plans, confirming drives, validating part shortages.

Nice To Haves

  • IPC 610/610 certification is a plus.
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Performing Incoming Inspection on material, in-process and/or final inspection of product.
  • Document records of inspection results, acceptance, rejection and other dispositions. Enter basic data into applicable databases (SAP and/or Catsweb).
  • Represent Quality Department on cross-functional teams/meetings
  • Housekeeping and 5S activities which includes organizing work area for orderliness at all times and ensuring work area is accessible and safe for internal employees and customer traffic.
  • Assist in supplier / customer visits for purpose of source inspection, quality audits and/or witness tests and determining supplier acceptance.
  • Initiate and lead process improvement projects and provide guidance in resolution of factory issues targeted in aiding in reducing DPUs (Defects Per Unit) on the factory floor.
  • Own and manage specific Quality processes and responsibility for data analysis and reporting.
