About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented, customer-focused Quality Engineering Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for supporting quality operations in a fast-paced production environment by helping to identify, contain, document, and drive resolution of product and process quality issues. Routinely interfaces with production operators, and factory support personnel. Assists in evaluating defect data to identify trends and collaborates with quality engineers to make recommendations on process improvements. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to work effectively with production operators and cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 6 years prior quality experience
  • 2 year post-secondary/AA Degree and 2 years prior quality experience

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding statistical data analysis techniques
  • Knowledge of quality control standards and methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing)
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, or other quality management systems is a plus
  • Ability to train others in quality control processes and procedures
  • An understanding that teamwork is essential to day-to-day success
  • Understanding of IPC/J standards
  • Experience working weekends (4th shift)

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the containment, documentation, and root cause analysis of defective material in a production environment
  • Provide baseline quality data to support daily and weekly yield reviews
  • Perform first-level triage of quality issues and maintain positive working relationships with production operators and cross-functional support teams
  • Support DPPM reduction initiatives by leading weekly production work cell touchpoints focused on quality concerns
  • Support RTY improvement efforts through regular inspection of products and modules to verify compliance with workmanship standards and work instructions
  • Help ensure quality expectations are met throughout the manufacturing process
  • Hybrid role combining QET and QC Inspector responsibilities
  • Communicate findings clearly and collaborate with team members to drive corrective action
  • Proficiency with measurement and inspection tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, optical comparators)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting findings and collaborating with cross-functional teams
