About The Position

KONE is seeking a Quality Technician 2 for their Americas operations in Allen, TX. This role is responsible for leading quality assurance in the factory production environment. The technician will identify improvement opportunities, prepare inspection plans, conduct first article sample tests, train operators, perform manufacturing process audits, and act as the primary quality contact for production. They will collaborate with Quality Engineers, Supplier Quality Engineers, and the Production team to ensure quality output. The position requires a passion for quality and results, with a commitment to communicating inspection and audit results to relevant stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of progressive and successful experience in Quality/testing.
  • High School Diploma or Relevant Testing/Quality certifications required.
  • Working knowledge with Lean and Quality tools, methods, and systems.
  • Working knowledge on 5S.
  • Knowledge which measurement and test equipment tools are appropriate for various applications and how to assess tool accuracy and precision.
  • Must understand the concept of calibration standards.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare inspection plans and procedures/instructions, communicate them, and assure implementation by giving guidance and support.
  • Identify best practices and improvement opportunities.
  • Keep record of inspection results and ensure correct calibration of measurement equipment.
  • Carry out and submit material and work inspections.
  • Communicate inspection and audit results to relevant stakeholders.
  • Lead quality assurance in the factory production environment.
  • Identify improvement opportunities.
  • Prepare inspection plans.
  • Conduct first article sample tests.
  • Train operators.
  • Perform manufacturing process audits.
  • Serve as the primary quality contact for the production.
  • Work closely with the Quality Engineers, Supplier Quality Engineers and Production team to maintain quality output.
  • Perform sample tests and process audits and assure the measurement system is correctly implemented.
  • Create reports regarding quality measurements and inspections.
  • Perform inspections on the incoming material and prepares summary of inspection results to Suppliers and Product owners.
  • Perform daily production audits and document the findings.
  • Communicate inspection and audit results to relevant stakeholders such as Quality Manager/Engineer and Production supervisors.
  • Manage the third-party tool calibration process.
  • Perform tests on the Return Material Authorization (RMA) products.
  • Perform reconciliation of warranty claims and identify improvement opportunities to mitigate them happening again.
  • Perform root cause analysis and propose corrective actions.
