This role is responsible for adhering to established safety policies, procedures, and practices, and supporting the organization's efforts towards continuous improvement, goals, and values. The Quality Tech demonstrates teamwork by collaborating with others to improve overall standards of performance and service, and provides good customer service to all customers, both internal and external. This position involves identifying, providing, and assessing training for hourly associates, communicating training requirements to team leaders and area coordinators, and recommending/implementing changes for value-added/cost reduction. The role also assists in identifying/implementing solutions to resolve internal/external customer complaints, maintains reporting systems for monitoring day-to-day activities (PPM), and keeps historical data on products/processes for reference. Additionally, the Quality Tech develops/updates and initiates implementation of procedures, work instructions, and set-up instructions, monitors, controls, and improves the manufacturing process, and conducts/performs/assists with quality audits and capability studies to increase manufacturing performance and customer satisfaction. This role also conducts/performs/assists with all DFMEA and PFMEA activities, leads/participates in various process improvement teams, and updates quality systems manufacturing procedures as required to maintain quality certification compliance. The Quality Tech coordinates with appropriate departments to resolve quality supplier/customer issues, initiates personal contacts with suppliers to establish quality requirements, and reviews Initial Sample Inspection Reports (ISIR) from suppliers as required. The role investigates returns to develop corrective action plans, prepares/submits all Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation as required, and identifies/recommends cost reductions/value analysis. Finally, the Quality Tech monitors trends and recommends/implements/coordinates corrective action to improve products, processes, and methods to reduce cost and increase value in accordance with lean manufacturing methodologies, and maintains/monitors the manufacturing scrap analysis program, implementing corrective action to meet/exceed defined company objectives.
