About The Position

Hood Container Corporation is seeking a dedicated Quality Technician to join their team at their Chicago, IL facility. This role is ideal for individuals with a sharp eye for detail, a commitment to quality, and experience in a manufacturing environment. The starting wage for this position is $20.00 per hour.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum 6 consecutive months of experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or warehouse setting.
Ability to stand for up to 12 hours and lift as needed.
Comfortable working 12-hour shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime.
Strong attention to detail with solid documentation skills.
Team-oriented with a strong work ethic and a desire to learn.
Able to read a tape measure and complete basic measurements accurately.
Self-motivated, safety-conscious, and reliable.

Nice To Haves

Corrugator experience is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

Verify all machine set-ups are accurate and aligned with customer specifications.
Maintain detailed and accurate records, especially caliper data for key customers.
Perform general clean-up and assist with machine start-ups.
Conduct basic troubleshooting and quality checks during production.
Operate within hot, humid, and high-noise environments while maintaining safety and efficiency.
Perform tape measure readings and document findings.
Support a high-volume production area by ensuring products meet quality standards.
Communicate effectively with team members and follow verbal and written instructions.
Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and a proactive approach to solving problems.
Uphold safety protocols and organizational goals at all times.
Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
