About The Position

The Quality Systems Specialist supports the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of BRCGS-based systems and Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) certifications across all US plants. This role ensures compliance with company and regulatory requirements related to food safety, quality systems, and documentation control. The Specialist will assist in internal audits, training, data analysis, and support cross-functional teams to uphold high standards of product quality and safety.

Requirements

  • Effective communication of technical and non-technical information to various levels, both internally and externally to the organization.
  • Strong working knowledge of QA principles.
  • Understanding of sanitation and pest control practices.
  • Strong understanding of HARA.
  • Strong understanding of GFSI/BRCGS standards.
  • Strong computer, documentation and document management skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with all levels internal and external to the plant to deliver timely results.
  • Establish and sustain effective relationships with all employees to foster an environment where innovation and cooperation are used to solve problems.
  • Strong auditing/assessment skills.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing operations.
  • Ability to interact effectively with 3rd party and internal auditors.
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - per safety guidelines
  • Mobility to cover expansive manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of food safety and quality programs.
  • Support internal and external audits, including preparation of documentation and follow-up actions.
  • Monitor compliance with GFSI/BRCGS standards and report deviations.
  • Conduct product and process audits to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Provide QA support to the various Business Units across the plant.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.
  • Support onboarding and ongoing training related to food safety and quality systems.
  • Communicate updates and changes in BRCGS/GFSI programs to all employees.
  • Supports the document control process.
  • Supports document retention and destruction.
  • Supports the plant in ensuring all required documentation is posted in applicable areas and is current.
  • Point of contact for Pest Control contractor and maintains required documentation and records.
  • Conduct quarterly pest control checks.
  • Monitor electronic system for QIP’s, Complaints, and other items related to the system.
  • Conduct routine GMP plant walks.
  • Member of HARA team.
  • Perform any other duty reasonably corresponding with the role.
