About The Position

The Chief Aerospace Safety Office (CASO) is currently seeking a Mid-level or Senior Senior Quality System Specialist – Auditor to conduct internal audits in Boeing Commercial Airplane (BCA) organizations. This position is located in North Charleston, SC, Renton, WA, or Everett, WA. The successful candidate will, under general or minimal direction, lead and perform system, product and process audits in accordance with the requirements of the Boeing Quality Management System (QMS) and other regulatory requirements to determine compliance to the QMS, regulatory, customer and business related requirements.

Requirements

  • 3+ years’ experience Boeing Quality Management System (QMS), International Organization for Standardization (ISO9001), or Aerospace Standard (AS91001)
  • 3+ years of experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, process specifications and Quality Management System documentation
  • 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • 3 + years of experience working within a manufacturing and/or quality production environment
  • Candidates are expected to obtain one or more of the following certifications based on duration of work within CASO Internal Audit organization: Within 1 to 3 years, an Internal Auditor, must pursue and obtain AS9100 Lead Auditor Certification.
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong teaming, collaboration, negotiation and project/time management skills
  • Experience in aviation production or repair station work
  • Familiarity with Root Cause Corrective Action, Lean+ tools, and AS9100 Auditor training or Auditor Industry training
  • Prior experience working with industry standards and regulations such as AS9100, Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Parts 21 and/or 145 and FAA Order 8100.7 are highly desirable

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute audit project plans
  • Validate processes for effectiveness and efficiency
  • Validate compliance to requirements and identify non-compliance and improvement opportunities
  • Conduct opening and closing meetings with audit stakeholders, including executive management and their assigned leaders
  • Document audit findings and write final reports
  • Communicate the results of the audits to assigned management teams
  • Work with audit stakeholders to ensure timely and effective corrective actions are submitted and perform audit follow-up activity to verify effectiveness of corrective actions
  • Work with the audit stakeholder or corrective action plan assignee to provide consultation on root cause analysis pertaining to process non-compliance
  • Analyze process data, metrics, models and flows to identify risk based, root causes of problems
  • Conduct research and compile and analyze performance reports, process controls and business analytics/statistics to continuously improve process capability
  • Frequent local travel is required across Puget Sound and Charleston area in support of BCA sites; some domestic or international travel may be required to support BGS, BDS, and ODA
