Purpose Defines and governs the Metallus Quality Management System to ensure business standards and processes meet ISO based, or equivalent, requirements and support consistent, scalable execution. Utilize expert knowledge of customer, industry, international quality standards, manufacturing processes, problem solving, lean tools, project management, and team facilitation to direct and assigned teams in setting goals, and strategic initiatives to better define and improve manufacturing and business process quality management systems so Metallus we fulfills the expectations of our markets, customers, and support the future growth of our business. Leads and mentors teams and other associates in the business through both direct and indirect leadership, including setting clear expectations, priortizing work, and holding team members accountable for performance, in interpreting standard requirements and intent and translating them into terms that the business can understand and fulfill in the most cost effective, value-added manner consistent with our management, customer, and shareholder needs. This is done based on technical and subject matter expertise, in-depth understanding of quality systems and our overall business, and critical thinking that leads to optimal solutions which introduces the lowest impact and risk, but with enhanced value for our business from our management's perspective. Develops recommendations and leads internal process improvement and enhancement of quality systems. Leads, directs, or conducts audit assessments, performs statistical analysis and recommends process controls to improve all facets of business performance. Facilitates or leads quality problem-solving teams for systemic improvements. Evaluates performance and system health signals to create strategic proposals to management and senior management for initiatives to improve quality and business performance. This role has direct responsibility for building, developing, and leading a high performing quality systems team, ensuring appropriate capability, engagement, accountability, and succession to support current and future business needs.
