About The Position

The Quality Systems Lead develops, implements and maintains QLE's technical Quality Management System for engineering, manufacturing and laboratory activities. The role applies lead expertise to develop practical, controlled and auditable procedures, records and standards that support consistent execution and future commercial deployment. Working independently within agreed priorities and governance, the role reviews governed technical and project documentation, raises findings and nonconformances, and coordinates approved corrective actions through to closure. It reviews the quality-system aspects of controlled changes and provides recommendations, while technical design approval remains with engineering discipline leads. The role contributes lead insight to strengthen the integrity, usability, scalability and audit readiness of the technical quality system.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a technical, scientific or quality-related discipline, or equivalent progressive experience in quality systems, quality assurance, quality control or document control.
• Extensive experience developing, implementing and maintaining quality systems, procedures and controlled documentation in engineering, manufacturing, laboratory or another regulated technical environment.
• Experience planning internal audits and supporting external audits by customers, regulators or certification bodies.
• Experience coordinating corrective and preventive actions, nonconformances and deviations through investigation, escalation and closure.
• Experience administering electronic quality or document-management platforms and preparing quality metrics or dashboards.
• Lead knowledge of quality management systems, controlled documentation, records governance, audits, nonconformance and corrective-action practices in regulated technical environments.
• Independent professional judgement to evaluate complex evidence, distinguish technical-design decisions from quality-system compliance and escalate material gaps appropriately.
• Ability to translate engineering, laboratory and manufacturing activity into clear, proportionate and auditable procedures.
• Credible cross-functional influencing skills, with the confidence to raise findings, challenge gaps and support effective closure.
• Ability to administer electronic quality or document systems and prepare useful quality measures, dashboards and trend analysis.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100 or ASME NQA-1 is desirable.
• Professional certification such as Certified Quality Auditor, Certified Quality Engineer or ISO 9001 Lead Auditor is desirable.
